Arad offers great leisure opportunities to its inhabitants
and visitors. In the summer time the best place to be in Arad is Neptun Swimming Place, a
recreational area situated in the very heart of the city, near to the fortress.
This swimming complex is situated in the twist of the Mures on a closely 40 hectares greenbelt. As for its size it is the second biggest lido of Europe built up near a river. The constructions begun at the ending of the 60’s and ere now … the walkways are pitched, the over 30 species including green areas are trimmed, the relaxation serving center includes five basins (8.700 m2) one of them being a swimming-pool, one of adults and 3 thermal-watered for children, but there is also a water-chute, a play-ground and more then 300 wooden lodges. On the lido’s area there are over 100 restaurants, bars, halls, clubs, beer-houses, terraces, discotheques and internet-coffees. There are two solariums for nudes, two cinder tennis-grounds, two volley-grounds, roller-skate entertainment ground and jumping-board, night lighted small goal soccer ground and 1.500 seasonable rentable retiring rooms. The parking is able to receive 200 cars. At night it attracts as a magnet the habitants of Arad due to its many non-stop opened restaurants, beer-houses, bars, clubs, terraces and discotheques.Summertime the lido gives place to various festivals, open-air concerts. As it would be a summer-resort. Thanks to these the lido got to the list of the most spectacular recreational centers. Through 3 gates 3.000.000 pleasure-seekers enter the lido yearly.
